More Smart Watch 2.0
I know that I’m missing out on a lot in life by not taking full advantage of everything my Smart Watch can do.
For instance, I know that many of my friends and family track their sleep patterns. In theory this sounds like a good idea, but being more practical than theoretical, I worry that the concerns I already have about my sleeping patterns, or lack of them, will magnify if I see little charts showing what has, and hasn’t, happened during the night. Plus, I haven’t gotten used to wearing it all day. I can’t even think about sleeping with it on.
There are all the basic health numbers it’s so eager to monitor for me: blood pressure, oxygen content, pulse. At this point in my life, that’s just clutter. Once a week, as recommended by my doctor, is enough to m check those numbers. It took me several tries to find monitors that were accurate, so I’m not messing with it now. But when I decide to train for a marathon, which will be never, I’m sure I’ll find it a big help.
Do I want it to measure my stress? No, I’m pretty good at recognizing that without help.
Do I need a stopwatch? No, I don’t do anything that fast anymore.
Do I want it to alert me when I get a phone call? No, if I don’t have my phone with me, it’s because I don’t want calls or messages right then. That must sound really strange to those who are comfortable with technology, but it’s well documented that I’m not one of them.
Do I want it to play music! Probably not.
Saving my favorite for last … Do I want it to remind me to wash my hands?
No … I think I’ve got that one covered, thank you.
