I grew up in northeast New Jersey, in a lovely small town where there was nothing to do. Reading became my favorite activity, letting me go places and have adventures I could only dream of. The seclusion and the reading gave me a nearly overwhelming desire to travel. I first spread my wings by going to college in Philadelphia, which was as far away as my parents were willing to let me go.
I met my true love at Drexel University and, as a bonus, he promised to show me the world. After graduating, he was in the Army, and we spent three years in West Germany, as it was called then. We used all his vacation time and all the long weekends to go as many places as we could. I started writing long letters to friends and family back in the states about everything I was seeing and doing. I liked writing and started thinking about possibilities.
After moving five times in seven years, Steve took a civilian job, and we bought a house. I spent many hectic years raising three busy girls and occasionally dipping my toes in the writing waters. I took classes and met with other writers as time allowed.
I finally decided to jump in the pool, and started nudging words into sentences, and sentences into essays. I launched my humor blog and now write books for children. The Christmas Mummy is the first.
I’m passionate about reading and want to share that love with children by creating books that are fun to read.
And here we are!
